View across the Bay
a little interactable cubist still life
Inspired by Juan Gris' View Across the Bay
Use your mouse to look around and drag the objects to see them differently.
There are no win or lose states, or goals to achieve. Just look at the things on the table, move them around and enjoy their many shapes.
This is just a translation of the rules cubists set for themselves to paint. You can see how some objects are more straight or round, or how detailed or abstract they are in different places in the composition. This is very noticeable in the cup, both in the original painting and this interpretation.
There's an undefined object in Gris' work that I had to cross reference with other paintings in what seems like the same place, so in this game it becomes a bottle or a bowl with fruit, undefined in it's own nature.
